(8-year old must turn 9 by Sept. 30, 2025, youth must not have turned 14 by January 1, 2025)

Pre-Registration opens: February 14, 2025
Once you have submitted the registration, you will receive a registration confirmation email.
Registration confirmation does NOT guarantee a spot at camp! Spaces are limited. You will receive a "Camp Admission" email if you have received a slot.
Once you receive your Camp Admission email, you must mail in or drop off a $85.00 deposit to your VCE unit within ten business days. You may pay the full camp fee of $380 at the time of your deposit if you so choose. Full payment deadlines may not be the same for each county/city, but will be shared in your Camp Admission email.

Teen Counselors
We believe you would be a great Teen Counselor for the 2025 James City County, New Kent & Charles City 4-H Junior Camp. We want the most enthusiastic and responsible teens to be teen counselors for our 4-H camp week. In order to be considered for selection, the following must be completed:
You must have three references (not family members). If your references would like to fill out the form online, please supply the 4-H office with their e-mail address and we will send them a URL. If your references would like to use a hard copy- you should provide your references with the form, as well as an addressed and stamped envelope. Reference forms are due by December 23, 2024. All applicants (including returning counselors) must have three reference forms.
All Camp Counselors will be required to attend an interview. This year, the interviews may be in-person, Zoom, Google Meets or by phone call. You will be contacted about your interview after we receive your application.

A position as Teen Camp Counselor is a great opportunity to develop your leadership skills by assisting with planning and conducting a 5-day, 4-night 4-H Camp for boys and girls ages 9-13. Teen Counselors are role models who help supervise campers and provide for their safety and well-being. Counselors will supervise campers during activities, assemblies, in cabins or lodges, and in classes. Teen counselors work with adult volunteers and Virginia Cooperative Extension staff and are under the direction of the Extension 4-H Agent.
Age Requirements:
15 years or older by June 1, 2025
Attend at least 24 hours worth of training. Trainings dates and times to be determined later. The expectation is that you will make every effort to attend all trainings.
Must be: mature, responsible, dependable, respectful, work well with others, have a positive attitude, and be a good role model.
Camp Counselor Fee to be determined. Payable before camp.
